Get the Smile You’ve Always Wanted

Feeling confident in your smile is important for your overall happiness and self-esteem. We are here to help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted in a way that works for you. Did you know that straightening your teeth has benefits beyond cosmetic improvement? Misaligned or crowded teeth can make maintaining hygiene difficult, which may lead to oral health problems. Crooked teeth and bite problems can sometimes lead to:

  • Tooth damage and chipping
  • Tooth loss
  • Wearing away of tooth enamel
  • Difficulty speaking or chewing
  • In addition to giving you the beautiful smile that you deserve, straightening your teeth may reduce the risk of cavities and help prevent gum disease.

Your Journey to a New Smile Starts with SureSmile® Clear Aligners

Clear aligner technology has made orthodontic treatment more discreet, while moving teeth to create a healthy, beautiful smile. Unlike traditional metal braces which rely on brackets and wires, SureSmile® straightens teeth through a series of clear, comfortable, Schedule an Appointment removable aligners. You can expect to wear your aligners for 22 hours each day and change them every two weeks as you progress through treatment. Each set of aligners will put gentle pressure on your teeth to gradually reposition them until your smile reaches ideal alignment.

Questions and Advice on SureSmile® Clear Aligners

Is SureSmile® right for me?

SureSmile® Clear Aligners are a highly effective solution for addressing various bite problems, such as crowding, gaps between teeth, underbite (where the upper teeth are positioned behind the lower jaw), overbite (where the upper front teeth partially cover the lower front teeth), and crossbite (where one or more upper teeth fit inside the lower teeth). With SureSmile® Clear Aligners, you can achieve the desired dental alignment and improve the functionality and aesthetics of your smile.

How long will treatment take with Clear Aligners?

The duration of treatment for SureSmile® Clear Aligners depends on individual factors, including the specific alignment needs and desired goals of each patient. While treatment times may vary, on average, the process typically spans between 6 to 18 months. During this period, the aligners work gradually to shift the teeth into their desired positions, resulting in an improved bite and a change in your smile.

Can I eat and drink while wearing my Aligners?

Great news – you don’t need to give up your favorite foods while you’re in treatment! However, you do need to remove your aligners when eating and drinking all liquids except for cool water to retain their fit and prevent discoloration. Simply remove your aligners to eat and drink all the foods and beverages you typically enjoy, then brush your teeth before putting your SureSmile® Clear Aligners back in place.

What’s the difference between NHS and Private?

NHS dental care will help you secure and maintain oral health provides a basic level of dental care. Fees are set by the Department of Health and will be the same with every practice with a contract to provide NHS dentistry.

The NHS does not provide any cosmetic treatments such as  tooth coloured fillings in posterior teeth, bleaching and certain types of crowns. Check-ups and periodontal care are bound by certain criteria. Your dentist is required to reassess how often you should attend. Appointments are made when available. We are contracted each year, at each individual practice, to see a number of historic patients (those that have attended for an examination within a set number of years) as well as a number of new patients. Funding of each practice varies, which also determines NHS treatment availability. We are obliged to spread that work throughout the year; this can result in longer waiting times for NHS care. Please also be aware, your examination recall for NHS treatment is determined by disease presentation at your examination visit, and is set using Welsh Assembly Government guidelines.

Private dental care at our practices provides all treatment options and will make all advanced and cosmetic treatment options available to you, giving you a larger choice of treatment options.

Our team will be happy to discuss these options with you during any consultation.

All of our dentists are committed to postgraduate education and continued professional development.

This additional experience reflects our level of commitment to high clinical standards.

Early morning and evening appointments are available for your convenience. Items requiring laboratory work will be carried out by the most experienced technicians using the best quality materials. Your treatment will be prioritised and completed as soon as possible.

All work is guaranteed within reason for 12 months, unless you have been informed by your dentist, on a like for like basis, with the exception of some private treatment which can be guaranteed for up to 5 years or longer.

What happens during root canal treatment?

Your dental practitioner will take x-rays of the tooth and the area around it. The area will usually be numbed with a local anaesthetic and the tooth may then be covered with a small rubber sheet (rubber dam) isolating it, and any decay removed. The pulp chamber is accessed through the top part of the tooth. The pulp is removed and the canal system cleaned, shaped, disinfected and sealed. A permanent or temporary filling will be placed at the access site. Further treatments such as a crown might be advised.

Root canal treatment may take some time to complete over more than one visit depending on complexity.

What are the advantages of PRPs/PRGFs?

  • Reduces inflammation, swelling and discomfort after surgical procedures.
  • Reduces infection risk.
  • Helps build connective tissues.
  • Shortens recovery periods.
