Veneers

Veneers offer a solution to radically improve the appearance of discoloured, misshapen or mis-aligned teeth.

What does the treatment involve?

For the construction of porcelain veneers, if necessary, a tiny layer of enamel is removed from the surface of the tooth to accommodate the veneer. Once the tooth has been prepared, a digital scan or impression is taken so a customised veneer can be manufactured in the dental laboratory.

  • A shade match is taken so the veneer blends in perfectly with your natural teeth.
  • A temporary is fitted and a second appointment is made to fit your permanent restoration.
  • The veneer is bonded to your tooth with a strong dental adhesive.
  • A popular alternative is to use composite veneers (composite bonding).
  • The advantage of composite bonding is that it is minimally invasive with little or no tooth preparation, and the treatment can be completed in a single visit.

As there is no laboratory work involved, the costs are usually significantly lower than porcelain veneers, but the results are equally impressive.

Why our patients choose Veneers

A more vibrant smile

Veneers are a popular choice for individuals with stained or discoloured teeth as they offer a highly effective solution for achieving a brighter and more vibrant smile. Whether your teeth have become stained from aging, certain medications, or lifestyle factors such as smoking or consuming staining beverages, veneers can help restore the natural whiteness of your teeth. By bonding thin porcelain shells to the front surface of your teeth, veneers can effectively cover up discoloration and give you a renewed sense of confidence in your smile.

Reshaping your smile

In addition to addressing tooth discoloration, veneers are also an excellent option for correcting the shape and size of teeth. If you have teeth that are too small, misshapen, or unevenly spaced, veneers can provide a solution. The dental veneers are custom-made to fit your unique dental anatomy and are carefully designed to achieve the desired shape and size. By placing these thin shells over your natural teeth, veneers can create a more harmonious and balanced appearance, helping to enhance your overall smile aesthetics.

Fixing your imperfections

Another compelling reason to consider veneers is their ability to effectively cover dental imperfections. Whether you have chipped, cracked, or slightly misaligned teeth, veneers can offer a comprehensive solution. These thin porcelain shells are crafted to match the colour, shape, and size of your natural teeth, and they are bonded to the front surface to conceal any flaws. Veneers provide a durable and long-lasting solution to improve the appearance of your teeth, giving you a flawless smile and boosting your self-esteem

Frequently Asked Questions About Veneers

We recommend that you always consult with one of our veneer consultants before starting any treatment.

How soon can I be treated?

Our waiting times for an NHS examination and treatment appointments, for new and historic patients, vary. Our reception team will happily update you on current waiting times.

The NHS contract funds a set amount of dental activity for the year and we are obliged to deliver this evenly over the twelve months.

The level of NHS funding provided  is not high enough to enable us to meet the demand for NHS care that exists.

These factors lead to long waiting times to access NHS care.

Private care can be provided at all times with a minimal wait.

Your dentist will be happy to go through all available options including that of accessing some treatment options on a private basis alongside an NHS course of treatment.

How much will it cost?

All treatment plans will be discussed with you at the examination appointment, along with associated costs.

Complex treatments, may need multiple visits to complete the investigations needed prior to providing an estimate. This will be printed at reception, or if preferred emailed to you.

Please look at our Fees page for more details.
