White fillings

Tooth-coloured resin fillings that effectively repair tooth decay or damage, blending seamlessly with your teeth for a natural-looking restoration.

What does the treatment involve?

Using the most advanced materials and techniques, at Cox and Hitchcock, we offer composite fillings as a superior alternative to traditional metal amalgam fillings. After numbing the area with a local aesthetic, the decayed portion and old filling are removed. The tooth-coloured composite material is then applied in layers, hardened with a special light, and shaped to restore both functionality and aesthetics.

Our modern composite fillings are highly durable and free from metals like mercury, providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing choice for your dental needs. Feel free to discuss your preferred filling material with us.

Why our patients choose White Fillings

white fillings offer patients with an aesthetic appeal

Aesthetic Appeal

White fillings, also known as composite fillings, offer a natural-looking alternative to traditional metal amalgam fillings. Made from tooth-coloured resin, they blend seamlessly with your natural tooth colour, creating a more aesthetic and discreet restoration. If you value the appearance of your smile and prefer a restoration that is virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth, white fillings are an excellent choice.

Mercury-Free Options

Choose Safety and Peace of Mind with White Fillings. Unlike metal amalgam fillings that contain mercury, white fillings are mercury-free. This is a significant advantage for patients concerned about potential health risks associated with mercury exposure. By opting for white fillings, you can have the peace of mind that your dental restoration is free from any mercury content, promoting both your oral health and overall well-being.

Durable and Long-lasting

Modern composite materials used in white fillings are highly durable and long-lasting. They can withstand the forces of biting and chewing, providing reliable functionality. Additionally, composite fillings bond directly to the tooth structure, which helps strengthen the tooth and reduce the risk of fracture. By choosing white fillings, you can enjoy a durable and resilient restoration that will stand the test of time.

Frequently Asked Questions About White Fillings

We recommend that you always consult with one of our consultants before starting any treatment.

How soon can I be treated?

Our waiting times for an NHS examination and treatment appointments, for new and historic patients, vary. Our reception team will happily update you on current waiting times.

The NHS contract funds a set amount of dental activity for the year and we are obliged to deliver this evenly over the twelve months.

The level of NHS funding provided  is not high enough to enable us to meet the demand for NHS care that exists.

These factors lead to long waiting times to access NHS care.

Private care can be provided at all times with a minimal wait.

Your dentist will be happy to go through all available options including that of accessing some treatment options on a private basis alongside an NHS course of treatment.

How much will it cost?

All treatment plans will be discussed with you at the examination appointment, along with associated costs.

Complex treatments, may need multiple visits to complete the investigations needed prior to providing an estimate. This will be printed at reception, or if preferred emailed to you.

Please look at our Fees page for more details.
